And what’s up with Lauren!??!?! WHAT IS HER DEAL!!!! She says she really likes Peter, but SHE WANTS TO PUT A PIN IN IT. She obviously likes Jeremy but she PUTS A PIN IN IT LIKE MAKE A DECISION…
Maybe because this plot seems directed to building up and evolving Peter’s character while making the others secondary? They had an opportunity to really show Lauren, maybe have her interact with the rest of the cast but they didn’t. There’s a deleted scene on the season 2 DVD.
They didn’t take the opportunity to showing Lauren and Jeremy together either or their kiss. That would have done a lot to establish context. I don’t know if they shot it and cut it because of time, but again, this is all told from Peter’s perspective for the benefit of writing and developing his character.
The writers have said they would move Mindy’s single tribulations to Peter now that she’s with Danny but I don’t see how they couldn’t share that with the rest of the ensemble cast. Even Tamra/Morgan was more about Peter than about them. I hate that they made Peter a defacto third lead.
I (obviously) like Peter as a character a lot more than you do but leaving that aside I kinda have to say…
I don’t think Tracey Wigfield is very good at acting. She worked fine in the two episodes last season where she was just kind of funny and witty and mean, but my guess is using less of her might be a tactful way of avoiding trying to have her have to carry the brunt of an emotional scene.
I’m so glad you said this because I don’t think Tracey is good at acting either. I love her as a person, she’s an absolute sweetheart, but I feel like she doesn’t bring anything to the character.
I was hoping they’d develop her as a female friend to Mindy Lahiri which would have worked off of her natural chemistry with Mindy Kaling.
I just don’t think you should write this kind of story unless you’re equipped with writing and acting to deliver. Otherwise we get the mess we got.
Oh definitely. Ike, Mindy, Anders, and all these writer performers are so great. They can do both so well, and not many people can do both, I think. And when you bring in someone who can write, for sure, but can’t act or bring some depth into a character, you definitely do get a mess because the character isn’t believable or relatable or likable.
Mindy and Danny “Crimes & Misdemeanors & Ex-BFs”
Not Mindy’s custom dress, but the same print!
I don’t know how but you can buy a dress made from the same floral print as Mindy’s custom made dress from "Crimes & Misdemeanors & Ex-BFs"!
